Barbados Maritime Ship Registry  was proud to participate—by invitation—in the First Meeting of Shipping Registry Compliance Officers, held in Malta from 1–3 December 2025.

This inaugural gathering marks an important step in strengthening the capabilities of global shipping registries. The initiative focuses on enhanced training, improved operational resources, and technology-driven solutions that support more effective fleet monitoring and help prevent the evasion of United Nations Security Council maritime sanctions.

BMSR was represented by Captain Jithesh Cyriac, Technical Officer, Operations Department.

The event forms part of the Maritime UN Sanctions Enforcement (MUSE) Project, implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) through its Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP).

The project is being delivered in close collaboration with the Global Centre for Maritime Sanctions Monitoring (GCMSM), headquartered in Malta.
